gypsy blood
My mother-in-law Ellen is a gem. She is easy to talk to and be around. She embodies that Southern warmth combined with a particular functionality you would expect from a woman from Ohio.
She loves art as much as I do and is one of the few people I like to share my drawings with (until now). On April 11th I sent her this doodle to which she replied, "Is it about your thought on your upcoming move?"
I laughed and told her, "No, my grandmother on my mother's side always said that she wanted to be a gypsy. So when my mom started telling me stories about her while she was here on a visit, I incorporated a lot of the details. This is what I think her wagon would have looked like had she traveled instead of getting married at 14 and having five kids."
My mother and aunts have always said that I am the gypsy Grandma always wanted to be. Little did I know what was coming!
